Richard Russell’s piece, NeverSummer, was chosen for an informal reading under the auspices of the New York Composers Circle, April 27, 2006. This piece was written for trombonist Haim Avitsur, who was the guest artist of the evening. Alaria Chamber Music Ensemble musicians Nancy Garniez, piano, and Yuri Vodovoz, violin, rounded out the trio.

]]> On February 10. 2005, Richard Russell’s piano trio Conversations (Faces) was performed by the Alaria Chamber Music Ensemble at CAMI Hall in New York. Andre Emelianoff was the guest cellist, joining regulars Nancy Garniez, piano, and Yuri Vodovoz, violin. This piece was written in response to the events of September 11, 2001.
