Raoul Pleskow

I had a chance to meet Raoul Pleskow today and hear a fascinating lecture by him. He said something very interesting that reflected a useful change of perspective. When writing for the piano, he said, “You’re not writing a piano piece. You’re writing a piece for two hands.”

This really stuck with me, as it returned the compositional focus back to the humanity of the music.
