The theme for the Cirlce Vari­a­tions was writ­ten by composer/educator Anne Far­ber. The idea was to high­light the com­posers of the NYCC, as well as Alaria, the cham­ber music group in residence.

Ms. Far­ber pro­vided a short theme for piano trio, and the com­posers of the NYCC were invited to write a short vari­a­tion. The idea was that the many vari­a­tions would be assem­bled together to pro­vide a musi­cal self-portrait of the NYCC.

This was my fourth draft of my vari­a­tion.
