Three Songs of Carl Sandburg (2002)

February 2003

When I began searching through poems to use for this song cycle, New York had recently suffered from the tragic events of September 11, 2001. While I did not wish to write a song cycle in memorium, in hindsight it is apparent that the events of that day were milling about in my mind as I considered different texts.

The three songs might be considered as a story ‚Äì a setting, a meeting, and a remembrance.
